About Hugh

I’m a multi award-winning photographer and filmmaker with a background in documentary and fine art photography.

For over fifteen years I’ve photographed people, places and stories for brands, magazines, galleries and cultural institutions, but weddings have always been one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

I’m drawn to real moments. The quiet in-between ones. The movement, emotion, atmosphere and small details that often pass unnoticed.

I don’t believe in forcing moments or turning weddings into productions. Instead, I work calmly and intuitively, creating space for people to be fully present while I document the day as it naturally unfolds.

Alongside photography, I also create cinematic wedding films with the same documentary approach thoughtful, immersive and emotionally led.

I only take on a limited number of weddings each year so I can give each story the time and attention it deserves.

My approach

Every wedding has its own rhythm, energy and emotional texture.

Some are quiet and intimate, others loud and chaotic, I’m not trying to force your day into a formula. I respond to what’s actually happening.

Most of the time you probably won’t notice me photographing. I move lightly, observe carefully and look for moments as they naturally unfold - the atmosphere in a room, a fleeting glance, the way people hold each other, the emotion between moments.

When portraits happen, I keep things simple and relaxed. Nothing overly posed or performative. Just gentle direction when needed, good light and space for real connection.

Whether I’m photographing or filming, the aim is always the same:
to create work that feels honest, cinematic and emotionally true to your day.

The couples I work with

The couples drawn to my work usually care less about perfection and more about feeling.

They value art, atmosphere and authenticity. They want their wedding documented honestly, without awkward posing, constant interruption or turning the day into a photoshoot.

Many of the people I work with are creatives themselves, or simply people who want imagery that feels elevated without losing its humanity.

They want photographs and films that will still feel meaningful decades from now.

No awkward posing. No performance.

Just beautiful, honest storytelling.
